Brooklynn & daddy played at the hospital while visiting with Walker. Eric went home for part of the day on Tuesday to spend time with the kids, while Nonna and my mom came to the hospital to visit with Walker and I.

Since there was a picture of Eric sleeping while I was in labor, it only seemed fitting to have one of him playing a video game while in the hospital room. He was so supportive though, and I am not complaining at all...just thought it was funny!

Amy & Avery were in town for a little bit this week and dropped by to meet Walker. Avery kept saying "I like it"...meaning Walker, it was really cute.

Brooklynn loves her Elmo chair, and the baby doll that once belonged to Aunt Candice- she holds it all the time. She is getting so big...and her hair is growing so much, she looks so much older now than she did a few weeks ago- they grow so fast!

Wow, what a crazy week !!

Well...my week started out with a bang!! After a 15 hour labor (which is supposedly a shorter labor for first time mommy's), Walker was born. It was by far the most amazing experience...I can honestly say that our family is complete and we haven't been happier! He came out with open eyes, and even cracked a couple smiles (I promise it wasn't gas!). All his grandma's were there to see him born, and his grandpa came in to see him right when he was born. It was a great experience because they didn't rush him off to the nursery- everyone got to hold him and I was able to breastfeed before Eric went with him to the nursery. We had a lot of visitors while in the hospital-including the kids who came to visit their new brother both days we were there. Thanks to grandma Larson for watching the kids during the tornado watch while we were in the hospital and to Amy, Jillian and Andrea who all switched off the day he was born- we couldn't have done it with out them!! Walker shares a birthday with his great-grandma Devereaux- it was a great present to both of them :)

We got home on Wednesday with Walker. Brooklynn looks so grown up next to him, she doesn't seem like a baby anymore (but she still is). Nikolas walks around and says "baby", but then pretty much ignores him most of the time. Walker and I have been working on breastfeeding, it definitely hasn't been the easiest thing I have ever done. We are having to watch him weight because he now weighs 6 pounds and 7 ounces, it is normal for babies to lose weight after birth...but he isn't gaining it back yet, so the DR is having us take him in more frequently. He has his days and nights completely mixed up (as he did before he was born). He loves to sleep all day long and eat and be awake all night long.

I am still recovering from everything- and am still in quite a lot of pain. I haven't been sleeping much...I am so thankful that my mom is here another week to help out. I have my hands full just taking care of Walker and myself right now, I am not sure how I am going to do it when she is gone, but I know we will manage :) Eric has been very supportive and obviously gaa-gaa over his newest son. It feels good to know that our family is complete...finally!

Here he is with out his hat on...he has a little bit of a conehead, and some stork-bites (birth marks that go away, in fact the one on his eye is already gone). Isn't he adorable??

The kids came by to visit both days we were in the hospital. Brooklynn didn't have a clue about what was going on...and she looked so much older to me next to Walker. Nikolas said "baby" right away when he saw him, but then didn't seem to notice he was there.

Look...he has curly hair. It is pretty dark right now, and curls a tiny bit, I have a feeling he will have a full head of hair in no time!

Grandma Larson

Grandma Larson flew from California to help me with the kids before and after Walker's birth. She has been such a huge help, I can't imagine going through this experience with out her. She took me to my last few DR appointments and timed my contractions on many different occasions. She was definitely a proud grandma the first time she held her newest grandson.

Grandma Larson, Nonna and Grandma Candy all got to be in the room for Walker's birth. They were all very excited to see him, and there wasn't a dry eye in the room when he was born.

Eric couldn't have been happier to finally meet his son. They look SO much alike, the nurse commented on how she rarely sees a baby that looks so much like one of their parents. If I hadn't given birth to him, I would be confused on if he was mine. I think he definitely has my stubborn attitude though :)

JAMES WALKER!!

Sorry it has taken so long to put pictures up on the blog...y'all wouldn't believe it...but I have been SO BUSY!!!
These are the first few pictures of James Walker, born on April 23rd 2007 (great-grandma Devereaux' birthday!). He was born at 1:44 pm at 7 pounds 4 ounces and 19 inches long.

He is perfect !!!!

Update on Walker...

Sorry it has been so long since I have updated the blog. Last week the kids got sick with a cold, and then this week I was sick - I think with a sinus infection. I am currently on antibiotics, and today I am finally feeling much better.

I went to the Dr today and am 3 cm's dilated. My cervix is completely soft and ready for labor, the DR was able to touch Walker's head. They hooked me up to a fetal monitor for 30 minutes because I have been having so many contractions the past week and a half. I did have a lot- many of them were smaller, but had a few bigger ones...unfortunally they are not yet regular. The Dr says it should happen any time now...I am completely ready, and already dilated and softened more than most people are that go in to labor. If for some reason I have not had him by my next appointment on Tuesday then on Wednesday the 25th we are inducing! I am really hoping he comes soon, and on his own :) I will keep y'all updated.

I also plan on updating the blog with some pics of the kids soon- grandma Larson is here and they are having fun playing with her. They have definitely been fussy and testy lately though, hopefully now that they are starting to feel better that will change!

Grandma had Nikolas cracking up- she would be a stuffed animal on his head and he would shake it off and then start laughing (and then Brooklynn would start laughing at Nikolas). They played the game for a while. This is the best picture I could get, it seems they are always from the side!
