What is that???

We don't let the kids get too close to Walker. Brooklynn just wants to hit him everytime she gets close, and Nikolas just says "baby" and then walks away, he isn't too interested. Today they were both really checking him out, they will definitely enjoy him a lot more once he is able to play with them.

Brooklynn is really starting to get around now. She loves to push things and walk. She is standing quite often now, on her own. She likes to stand up and clap for herself, she is so proud!

Well, tomorrow my youngest brother is graduating from Highschool. I can't believe how old I am !! I am so proud of you Thomas, you are a great little brother & a wonderful Uncle Tom-Tom. It seems like yesterday that we ate mac n cheese on the back porch with Gertie dressed up as Super Man, oh the memories! I love ya kiddo :)

I am trying...

Hi y'all-

I hope you haven't given up on checking the blog (guess you haven't if you are reading this now!). I am sure I don't have to tell you how busy I am, and that I am trying my hardest to update the blog when I can. My sister and mom are coming soon, so hopefully this summer there will be a lot less time in between updates. The kids are doing so good, and definitely keeping me busy- there is NEVER a dull moment here. Time is flying by so fast, it is crazy. I look back at the pictures and I just can't belive how quick they grow. I am so thankful that they are all healthy & they are all staying and ours forever ! Thanks to everyone for checking in with me so often, and the cards and gifts for Walker- it is very appreciated !!

Little Old Man...

Here is a recent picture of Walker (taken today). He isn't really looking at the camera, but you can get an idea of what he looks like. He looks like a little old man, he cracks me up. He went to the Dr today and now weighs 8 pounds and 8 ounces, and is 20 inches long...he is gaining weight really well :) He got all his results back from his newborn screening (for diseases and disorders) and everything came back negative, yeah!! He is getting better at holding his head up now, although it is still wobbly. He is sleeping a little better at night now, last night he slept 4 straight hours for the first time ever- it was great (although I am MANY more than 4 hours behind on sleep). He is a mommy's boy right now- I have the off button for him and can calm him down really quickly if he is crying or other people can't calm him down, it is a good feeling to know I have that effect on him :) He will be 5 weeks old on Tuesday...time sure is flying by !! I can't wait for his aunt Candice to meet him- she is coming in June !!

He does get mad...

Walker has been showing his stubborn side lately ( he got that from me). He gets REALLY mad when he isn't picked up as quick as he wants. This picture doesn't give his temper enough justice.

Sleepy Head

Pretty Girl

Brooklynn has been having some really good days lately. She is starting to cruise around the furniture a lot more, and is even starting to lose some of her chubbiness in her legs. She has 2 teeth on the bottom and is starting to get a few on the top. I can't believe she is almost 10 months old. We found out that we are going to be able to adopt her in July, we are so excited and can't wait to have it official. She went to the DR a couple days ago and now weighs 18 pounds...she dropped from the 95th percentile to the 50th. She is still wearing the same size clothes and diapers as her big brother, I have a feeling she will always be bigger than him :) She started clapping the other day...and is VERY proud of herself. She also started doing the sign for "more" when she is eating, I am very proud of her, it is much better than how she used to bang on her tray and demand more food.

Grandma Candy has been helping out a lot lately. The kids love having here to play with them,and mommy loves being able to take a nap or run errands :)

Vroom-Vroom's

Daddy got Nikolas 20 cars last weekend. He stuck most of them under the big tv we have, but was very excited once I got them all back out. He loves to sit around and sort them all from one container to another. He is wearing the car hat that Grandma Larson gave him.

Uncky Brian!

Uncle Brian is in town this summer and working right down the street. He has dropped by a couple times after work and for lunch...it is great to see him, and the kids really having someone else to play with :) We are trying to teach Nikolas how to say "Uncky" ( I think that is how you spell it??).

Update on the kids...

I have been talking to Jordan & Jadens mom as well as Caseys this past week. It is so great to still be able to talk to them and know what the kids are up to.

Jordan (his new name is Zachary...Zachie for short) is 2 1/2. He is almost potty trained, can dress himself and loves helping in the garden. They have a farm with chickens, goats and cows- he loves playing with the animals and helping to take care of them.

Jaden (her new name is Victoria, Torie for short), she will be 4 in June. She is going to start kindergarten in a couple of months (they homeschool). She is learning to write and loves it. She loves art.

Jordan & Jadens adoption STILL hasn't gone through yet, they are very eaget to get it finalized !!

Casey (his name is Nathan, but they call him Mr. Nat), he is going to be 2 in July (I can't believe how fast they grow up). I think that we are going to see him for his birthday- I am both excited and nervous about that. He got kicked out of daycare for biting and they haven't been able to find him daycare. His step-mom says he has been a toot lately (that is my Casey!). He is learning new sign language signs- I am glad that he has been keeping that up. He still sleeps with his blankie that I made him (it makes me feel good). His CPS case got closed a couple of months ago.

I am supposed to be getting pictures of all three of them- when I do I will make sure to post them.

Brooklynn Noelle's adoption

Yesterday we found out that Brooklynn's adoption should be official in the beginning of July. I met with the adoption worker and she is really determined to get her adopted within the next 60 days. It is a great change of pace, since last time we had to wait months and months before we even knew an estimate of when we could finalize. So...very soon (before her first birthday), she should be ours forever!! It will be nice to have our family, and know that they are all staying :)

They Grow so fast...

Walker is already growing so fast. I put away his preemie clothes the other day (it was sad!!). He is starting to hold his head up a lot more often now, he is a strong boy for being only 3 weeks old. He loves to look around, and is still so alert. He is smiling more and cooing some. He still has his nights and days completely mixed up but he is starting to sleep for 3 hours and then wake up to eat...much better than the 1-2 hours he was doing before. He loves to sleep with his hands up by his face, my favorite pose is the one where he looks like hs is thinking...too cute! He loves his swing that grandma Larson got him, he is starting to look up at the mobile. He goes in next week for a weight check and his one month check up...I can't believe he will be one month old, it seems like yesterday.

Grandma kept teasing that she was going to take Brooklynn home with her to California...they formed a very strong bond while she was here, I know Brook will miss her a lot.

Texas Baby

Eric bought my mom a UT shirt- he said he couldn't let her go back to California with out something orange. Here she is cuddling with Walker, notice his Texas blanket (Nonna gave it to him). Of course he also has some A&M stuff as well..his Uncles gave him a shirt, binkie and booties with A&M on them!

Brooklynn LOVES her baby, it is by far her favorite toy. It was Aunt Candices when she was little- so it makes it extra special!

Grandma bought Walker a swing for his "birthday". It turns out that Brooklynn loves it too. She sat in it for 1 1/2 hours today...I haven't seen anything keep her occupied for more than 10 minutes before. I am VERY thankful for the swing, it will help me out quite a lot!

Always sleeping...

He sleeps more than anyone in the house, well during the day. He has his nights and days mixed up, so mommy NEVER gets any sleep :)
