Walker's new 4-wheeler!

It took months for Howard to get the front lawn to look good, and only about 10 minutes for Walker to destroy it. He had fun though riding his new 4 wheeler...and luckily so far there have been no flower or plant casualties yet. It didn't take him long to figure out how to drive it and do a few tricks.

Howard helped him attach a "trailer" to his 4 wheeler so he can haul stuff around the yard.

Happy 5th Birthday Walker!!

My little man is actually 5 tomorrow, I can't believe it. He is at Eric's this week, but he is getting to come over for the day so I can spend a little bit of his birthday with him. Howard and I got him a battery powered ATV, he saw one at the store a while back and will LOVE it!!! We are having a little party for him in Lockhart this weekend- I can't wait!

We have strawberries!!

Nikolas noticed the strawberries a few weeks ago, they are finally starting to turn red. I am hoping that it will be ready for Walker to pick and eat on his birthday!

The Petunias are doing so well. The pink ones are so bright that they almost steal the spotlight from the purples ones. They are so pretty!

The bluebonnets were bought as plants, but didn't have any flowers on them- they have all bloomed, which means more bluebonnets next year!!

The Jasmine is blooming too, smells SO good!

The kids and I made some garden stones for the garden. Walker's is the one on the far left, he did "Camo". Brooklynn's is the middle, she did a great job at painting in the lines! Nik's is the crocodile- very cute!!

A Garden Update!

The GIANT pumpkin plant. The pumpkin plants have gotten so big! When I bought the pumpkin seeds, I failed to look at the estimated pounds that the pumpkins grew to....60-100 lbs. It should be interesting to see how big they get. 

A full view of the garden...sure looks a lot different from a few weeks ago.

The grape vine is starting to climb up the lattice, no sign of grapes yet.

The tomato plant is starting to bud, you can't tell from this picture but there are a few little yellow flowers on it.

All of the squash plants have big orange flowers on them now.

My 2nd Bow Shoot

I went to my 2nd 3-D bow shoot today. I scored a 210 , which is almost double of my first shoot. The first shoot I had only picked up a bow a handful of times. I lost 3 arrows, and was just glad I was able to shoot all the way through the course (which has 30 targets). This time I was a little more practiced and confident. We got the bow sighted in yesterday and brand new arrows. I think we are almost done changing things on the bow, so now I can work on perfecting my shot, instead of having to sight it in almost every time I shoot. Howard put up lights and a target in the backyard so I can practice after the kids go to bed (he made sure to reinforce the fence really well so I don't shoot through towards the street).

 Howard scored a 300....his best so far, it was a fun day!

And I used to think birds weren't cute....

A duck out at Howards, just hatched 10 baby ducklings on Friday night! We got to see them swimming with mama duck, not bad for not even a day old! I even got a couple videos of them getting out of the water and looking for food- too cute! I am definitely working on my fear or birds. I actually went between 2 hissing geese to get good pictures of the baby ducks (can you believe that mom??)

Getting ready to roast Smarshmallows....

Last night we let the kids roast "Smarshmallows" and make Smores. Nikolas is really getting the hang of it, and takes his time making sure his marshmallow doesn't burn. Brooklynn has decided it is easier to eat them not roasted and Walker is learning to like his burnt. They are all so different, it cracks me up!!

The kids had a lot of fun riding on this barrel train, pulled by a riding lawn mower. They also made a few new friends.

Brooklynn is wearing her pink cowgirl boots all of the time now. I just had to take a picture the other day when she put them on with shorts. Here she is showing them off, with her signature camera pose (she always tilts her head and smiles when she sees a camera). 

Why did the turtle cross the road?

We were in Lockhart this past weekend and saw a HUGE turtle on the side of the road.

Walker, Brooklynn & I took a nap, and Nikolas got to stay up and help Howard work around his house. Then, they took a break and went 4 wheeling. Nikolas had such a fun time- and he is turning into quite the little worker!
