The GIANT pumpkins are taking over....

There are 3 pumpkins starting out on this vine, and it is a 12 foot vine. 

Howard had to tie pantyhose to the fence to support this pumpkin, since it is supposed to reach up to 100 pounds.

Mother's Day!

Nikolas and Brooklynn made me some presents at school. Nikolas made a cute poem, with his hand-print on the other side. Brooklynn made a really pretty candle holder and a flower pencil.  

Howard helped the kids get me some really pretty sand stone/rocks candle-holders from this neat store called "We Rock", that we took the kids to a while back. I kept thanking them for my presents, but they said they didn't buy them. Howard said "yes, you did- it just came off of the money I owed you for helping me work in the yard". Now, I think they are going to expect money, next time they help!!

It is hard to tell from this picture, but this actually has a very woodish look to it. I thought it was wood the first time I saw it, instead of a rock. 

This one is my favorite, it is really smooth and looks the most like wood. 

This is also a candle-holder, for some reason you can't see it as well as the other ones. 

Well, well there Little Mister....

Nikolas asked to wear his cowboy hat last week, and didn't want to take it off most of the week he was here. He even took it to school for "Show n tell". He wore it on Mothers Day to Lockhart. On the way there, in the truck, he asked Howard how to sit like a cowboy. Howard told him, with his leg resting across his other leg/by his knee. Nik did it, and then sat "like a cowboy", the whole way to Lockhart. He showed everyone at Howard's his hat, and how a cowboy sits. When he took his hat to show n tell, that afternoon the teacher walked him out to the car and told me that he showed everyone how to sit like a cowboy...it was too cute. He is definitely a proud cowboy (as you can tell, from my new favorite picture of him) with his hat and boots!!).

The strawberry plant is still making tons of strawberries, too bad a  bird has noticed this too, and has started to rob the stwawberries before we get them.

The new planters Howard made for the catnip and lavender. We got catnip to try to keep the flies and mosquitoes out of the yard.

I won 2nd place in a night shoot. It was very exciting! I think this may be the first plaque I have ever won!

Nikolas "working" with Howard

I walked in the shed, and saw that Howard had put Nikolas to work on a flower bed he was making for the front yard. Nikolas was doing so well measuring and marking the wood, using a template! He is getting so big!!

Howard drew him a target, so his suction cup arrows would stick when he shot them. He did really well. He was so excited to get to have a "bow-shoot" with me.

Walker's 5th Birthday Party!

Walker wanted to have a Camo/Hunting birthday party. We went out to Lockhart to Sharon and Howard's. He had a lot of fun. We had hamburgers for lunch. Sharon made the neatest hunting birthday cake! The kids rode around on the 4 wheeler's and then went swimming. It was a lot of fun!!!
