Both Brooklynn & Nikolas are doing really well potty training!! The last several days they have worn underwear/panties all day- except for when they took a nap or went to bed. There have been a few accidents- especially with Brookie today. But, accidents happen, and they are catching on, so that is what counts! It sure is a lot of work though, but I keep reminding myself that it will be well worth it. I have been changing diapers (with out a single break), for almost 5 years now- that is a lot of diapers. I started setting a timer for them to sit on the potty for every 20 mins, then 30, then 40- and today we didn't have a timer set at all :)
I don't plan on going to any playdates next week, so that we can stay home and consistently work on potty training. With them getting sick, and us always going places- I think it has slowed things down. Hopefully a few good days (or more) of just focusing on potty training will give them the extra little push they need!!

Curly!
This isn't the cutest picture of Walker, but it does show off his fro pretty good. His hair is just so out of control, but it is adorable and both Eric and I aren't ready to cut it yet. When it gets wet, it is down to his shoulders, but of course springs right up when it starts to dry.
Trick or Treating?
Nikolas and Brooklynn came out wearing cowboy hats, dress up clothes and their backpacks today. They said they were going Trick or Treating. Of course it is even funnier because they are potty training and are now wearing underwear & Panties, probably not a picture they will be too thrilled that I posted online, when they get older.
Daddo's Little Cuddlebug!
I am not sure why I like sleeping pictures so much...I think that is my speciality. I thought this was cute, because Eric was asleep and Walker crawled right up and snuggled up next to him.
Silly Girl!
Brooklynn picked out her outfit today, her Longhorn shirt, Hello Kitty panties and my winter hat *(which she wore most of the day) . She had no problem showing it off for the camera.
She is starting to like getting her picture taken again- yeah, for a while she would just run from the camera.
New Robes
I got the kids some robes that were on sale (only $2-seriously!!). They love wearing them around the house. They are pretty big, the smallest they had was a 4T. But, I figured at that price it was worth buying them and letting them grow into them.
Notice they also are playing with their laptops- these are by far their most prized possessions right now. They play with them all the time (good job on a Christmas present Unkie!). I had to buy Walker one though, since 2 of anything doesn't work in this house. He is very pleased to have his own- he says "Laptop" so cute too ;)
My future Ballerina...
Brooklynn LOVES her ballerina tutu that Nonna got her a while back. She is always putting it on, and twirls around. She also has on her ballet shoes, that are a little too small, but she still wants to wear them all the time. I am not sure when kids can start ballet, but I think she would enjoy it a lot, or least have a reason to wear her tutu!

Christmas in January!
I am so behind, I still have to post Christmas pictures. I am waiting to talk to Nonna & Grandpa to see which ones they have- since they normally take better ones than I do. I should have Christmas posted by the end of Jan. (better late than never).
Everything has slowed down here, as far as being sick goes. Walker is still a little fussy- but we haven't seen a fever for several days (yeah!!) and there have been very little coughs or snotty noses. Of course now, I am having to get back to reality and do a bunch of laundry, balance the checkbook, go the grocery store and clean the house. We are all SO bored of being at the house, that we are about to go crazy. We can't wait till we have our next playdate so we can play with our friends!!

Dusty- also known as "Dirty"
Dusty is getting SO big. He is a cutie (much cuter than these pictures show). I took him to the vet the other day, and my little bitty Malti-poo, who isn't supposed to be over 8 pounds- weighed 10 pounds already. The Vet basically said that he wasn't a Malti-poo, he has the poodle in him (since he doesn't shed, thank goodness!), but he is mixed with something else. It is a good thing, since little dogs are so breakable- and my toddlers aren't the most gentle kids in the world. They love Dusty though, and he loves them! I have started calling him "Dirty" because he brings half of the backyard in with him when he comes back inside. EVERYTHING sticks to his hair, and he makes sweeping and vacuuming completely pointless :)
So Fun...
All three kids are starting to really play together now. Walker was allowed to tag along for a bit- but now he is completely a part of the group. He is really enjoying it! They are always together!

The House of Sickness...
Things have been crazy around here- all three kids are sick right now, and they have been keeping me more busy than normal.
It all started with Walker last Friday, he was having a hard time breathing- luckily Eric was here that night or else things would have been a lot worse. Since he had an inhaler/spacer for his possible Asthma, we used that, thinking that was the problem. But, it didn't help. When he coughed, I realized it was Croup- I couldn't mistake that barky sound. So, we turned on the shower as hot as it would go, and sat in there with him at midnight for about 15 minutes, luckily he sounded better. His breathing was still a little off- talk about scary. So, we knew he had to sleep with us- the boy wouldn't lay still. I then went and tried to sleep with him in his little bed (with a tent over it). He was laying on me, climbing on me- trying to tickle me-you name it, he wouldn't sit still, about half way through this I realized that we had given him Albuterol, and he wouldn't be sleeping much at all that night. After a few hours I gave up and Eric climbed into the tent too- not sure how he fit, but he spent the rest of the early morning hours in his tent.
The next day he woke up much better- but occasionally had his croupy cough. After naptime, he once again couldn't breathe- and we knew that it was time to take him to the ER. Luckily the new Dell Childrens Hospital is right around the corner from us. Eric stayed with the kids and Walker and I went to the hospital. They got us in really fast, once they heard his cough. Also, triage took his temperature and it was 103.1 - and when he cried he had very bad stridors (something that goes with Croup and usually happens when they are crying). They gave him a breathing treatment, a shot of steroids in each leg, and I held Cool Mist on his face for about an hour. They came to check his temperature, since they had given him Motrin 2 hours earlier for it- and it was still 102.8. The Resp. Dr was convinced we were going to be admitted. Luckily they did let us go home, with the instructions to come back if he starts breathing bad again. He said not to leave him alone for several nights so we could be there if he started having trouble breathing again, and to leave a cool mist on him at night.
The next day he was doing SO much better- he didn't have the Croupy cough (yeah steroids!) and the only way you could tell he had Croup was when he cried and you could hear the Stridors. We thought things were on the up. Eric left that day, but of course that night he woke up with a 104.3 fever, and neither of us got ANY sleep that night (just like the several nights before). So Monday morning I made an appointment to see our Pediatrician. I loaded up ALL the kids, and took them to the DR- what an experience that was. At this point Nik & Brook were coughing too (not Croup though), and had runny noses & Walker wouldn't let me put him down, at all! At one point they were all crying at the same time, we had to take Walker into another room just so that I could talk to the Dr and she could check him over. She heard a crackle in his right lung- so off we went to get an X-ray of his chest to make sure he didn't have Pneumonia. That was fun as well with the kids. That day we got a call back saying that the x-ray was clear, yeah no Pneumonia is good!! She said that if he still had a fever by Wednesday that he would have to come back in and give blood an a urine sample to see what was going on, Usually with Croup there is only a low grade fever- and doesn't last this long.
Monday & Tuesdays were LONG, restless nights. The poor baby started coughing every time he laid down, and once he finally got to sleep he would wake up with a fever. At this point we had humidifiers in two rooms, and a vapor plug in, in the other room-Brook & Nik were feeling pretty crummy, but luckily no fevers!!.
Unfortunately Wednesday morning he woke up with a 103.5 fever, and I HAD to call the Dr, to see if we needed to come in. Of course we didn't. Luckily this time I was already packed and a lot more prepared this time for the kids (stickers, snacks and cookies for a bribe!). They did pretty well, although at this point Nikolas had a really icky cough- and every time he coughed he would say "I don't feel good", I felt bad for him, but the Dr said that with no fever, it would most likely have to run its course. The focus was on Walker and why he has had fevers over 102 degrees for almost 5 days. She did a flu test, no flu. She did a catheter to get a urine sample- and that showed no problems. They drew blood, and later she called to say that it was clear as well. Not that I wanted him to have anything wrong- I just wanted answers, something that can fixed. The poor baby had gone through double steroid shots at the ER, blood drawn, a catheter, a flu test and more rectal thermometers than his share. They still couldn't tell us what was wrong.
This afternoon he still had a fever over 103. The poor thing wants to feel good, but that only lasts a little bit before he is wanting me to carry him and he is to the point of falling asleep (he is so tired that he asks to go "Night Night". The ER Dr said to keep him calm and rested for a while since things get worse when he is upset- so I have seen SOOO many shows of Dora, Barney, Handy Manny and Go, Diego, Go that I would pay a lot of money to never have to see them again!! Tomorrow if he still has a fever (cross your fingers that he doesn't), then he has to give a stool sample (fun stuff). I just hope they find answers soon!! Today Brooklynn seems the best out of all of them- so that is good, 1 down, 2 more to go! They are definitely getting Cabin fever, we have been told to stay away from kids for at least a week. We are missing a lot of playdates with our Mom & Tots group- and the kids are really wanting to get out of the house, and go somewhere other than the Dr's. We were told that Croup is very contagious to children, usually 3 and under- and could lead to hospitalization. The nurse told me that 2 years ago that if a patient came in with Croup, it was an automatic admission to the Hospital. Luckily modern medicine has changed that.
Sorry for the book!! I still don't have any pictures, but I will work on getting the camera hooked up to this computer so I can get them added to the blog (although this past week, I have taken very few pictures- if any!).

Best Buds

Daddo's Big Bear Hug
The kids love it when Daddo is home, they get a lot of rough house- which mommy doesn't tend to do very often. Here he is hugging all three of his little turkeys. Don't worry, no kids were injured in this bear hug!
Happy Birthday G-ma!
G-ma came over on her birthday. The kids and I got her a cake (a yummy cheesecake). We sang her Happy Birthday (well kinda). They gave her the present and all the cards- it was fun, although they were a little confused about where their presents were :)
Finally a way to share!!
After fighting over Walkers new push bike, they all figured out a way to share- of course it didn't last too long, but long enough :)
Brooklynn's new room!
Mima bought Brooklynn an early Birthday present. She got a bunkbed just like her brothers. We were having a hard time putting everything in her room, so we were able to use bottom of the bunkbed as a playhouse and room for a lot of her toys and dress up clothes. She LOVES it, and talks about it all the time. Her brothers love to play in there with her. Amy did the cute decorations on the bunk bed, since it was blue- and we needed to make sure it was girly. I did the pink on the tent (it too was blue, as you can tell), and needed a little dolling up. I really liked the way it turned out, and the kids enjoy playing in her room.
