Fun in the Sun, with friends!

The kids love getting together with their friends. They are getting better at not throwing as big of fits when we have to leave. Amber had a "Fun in the Sun" play date today with pools, sprinklers, outside toys, fruit, kids music and of course home-made ice pops. The kids were in heaven!!

The Trampoline

The boys loved the trampoline. Brooklynn really, really wanted to get up there and jump- but she just couldn't get herself to do it. She would climb on the stool and then get on the edge and then get down and do that about 10 times before deciding to get down. Nik & Walker weren't afraid of it at all, in fact Nik kep talking about it all day long.

Playing in the Water1

The kids had a lot of fun playing with their friends at Amber's house today. She had tons of different water toys, pools, sprinklers- etc. It did end up turning up into some big mud puddle- which the kids loved even more. They had a great time!

Swim Lessons

The whole family started swim lessons on the 1st of May! We decided to join the YMCA (it is literally 5 min's away). Eric has been working out a few times a week. When my relaxation Yoga class starts we will be alternating days, I am looking forward to learning how to relax.

The kids are all in Swim lessons right now. We were lucky enough to get both classes almost at the exact time, on Saturday mornings. I would like to watch Nik's class though, but it is much easier to not have the kids have to wait during each others classes.

Nikolas is off on his own, since he is over 3. He LOVES it, and thinks he can swim. It makes me a little nervous since he tends to just take off, and isn't the best at listening to his teacher about staying on the steps. He gets really excited about it, which is great. I think this summer we will just keep him in it and let him keep going up through the classes while everything is fresh in his mind. He loves the water and is a born fish.

Walker & Brooklynn are under 3, so they have to be in a parent/child class. Eric and I are taking it with them. It is pretty neat to be doing something as a famiy. The YMCA is great too- it actually cost us $75 for all three kids to take lessons (member prices). I love a good deal!!

Walker is doing so good. He has no trouble with the water. He is kicking and blowing bubbles and going after the toys. The class is a tad bit too long for him though. He gets bored about 1o min's before it is over- although it might also be because the pool is pretty cold, not as warm as they said it would be. The instructor came up to us the other day and said that he was ready to go under (of course before anyone else in the class). Me...being the slightly clueless and paranoid mommy said "under where??". She just took him and dunked him, it was so crazy!!! He did well, now if we can just get him to close his mouth when he goes under.

Brookie on the other hand, screams, claws and has a death grip on anyone holding her. It is complete torture for her. She hates it!! The only time she didn't scream at the top of her lungs was when the instructor had her. She didn't do anything, but at least she stayed in the pool. Hopefully she continues to get better at it- it isn't even summer yet, and we plan on being near a lot of pools :)

Messing painting!!

The kids had a great time in "school" finger painting. At first Nikolas wasn't too crazy about it- but Haleigh got him out of his shell. Haliegh is not afraid of a mess...and definitely made one, but they had so much fun. We made some Mother's Day gifts (with hand prints), and then some finger painting pictures. All I have to say is thank goodness for washable paint!!

Brooklynn got her ears pierced!!

We finally went and got Brookies ear pierced (well I did if you ask Eric). She picked out her earing- of course the most expensive one there- a pretty pink flower, but we had to let her choose. They gave her a lollipop and a princess sticker and she was thrilled. They had 2 people do them at the same time, and they were so good with her. Eric took the boys out to walk in the mall so that they didn't have to hear her scream. They did it, and she looked me and said "Ow" she had tears welled up in her eyes, but that is all...she didn't cry, scream or anything- such a big girl, and so not the reaction I had expected!! She loves her new earings and keeps looking in the mirror at them . They look adorable :)

The Sandbox

Daddo made the kids a sand box the other night (of course I had to remind him a few times, but that is okay). It looks great, and the kids love it. We go to a lot of parks with sand boxes and they all had a lot of fun with the sand and sand toys- so of course we needed one for our backyard. It actually is in a place that is supposed to be a sandbox- but we used it to park cars/bikes so they wouldn't get wet, guess we lost our garage!

2 of a kind

They are starting to look more and more like twins every day. Brooklynn is about the same size as him (and Walker is right behind them).

Bathing Beauty...

Here is Brooklynn showing off her new swimsuit. She started swimming lessons this past weekend. We all did. Eric and I are doing a Parent/Child class with Brooklynn & Walker since they are under 3.Nikolas is doing a preschool one all by himself. Brooklynn absolutely HATES it, she screams the whole time and wants out (lots of fun). Walker loves it for the first 20 minutes then the last 10 is pretty bored. Nikolas has a great time, and throws a fit when it is time to get out. All in all, it has been a fun experience as a family. We have lessons every Saturday till the end of May.
